Student Activities
On 30 May 2025, the PPRG Master’s Programme Summer Exchange Camp hosted a Simulation Workshop, where participants engaged in role-playing and simulated discussions to experience international negotiations. The session deepened their understanding of global governance, as they represented different countries and worked to balance national interests with global cooperation.
As part of the PPRG Master’s Programme Summer Exchange Camp, the Programme hosted a “Current Student and Alumni Sharing Session,” featuring the PPRG alumni and current students as speakers. This session provided participants with firsthand perspectives into academic life and career development in Hong Kong.
A roundtable discussion was held on 29 May 2025 during the PPRG Master’s
Programme Summer Exchange Camp. The panel featured Prof MOK Ka Ho, Prof JIA Haiwei, and Prof KAO Lang, who presented and engaged in the discussion on ‘Governing the Unpredictable – Risk Governance in an Era of Black Swan Events.’
The first PPRG Master’s Programme Summer Exchange Camp successfully took place from 28 May to 1 June 2025, bringing together the teachers and students from South China Agricultural University. The camp fostered meaningful academic exchange and collaboration, providing participants an enriching and immersive experience.
On 9 May 2025, the second cohort of the PPRG Programme came together for a memorable end-of-year dinner celebration. Teachers and students shared experiences and celebrate their achievements over the past year. The evening was filled with lively conversations and meaningful connections.
A student from the second cohort of the programme successfully completed an independent study on think tanks in Hong Kong and presented the research findings to teachers and fellow students. The research included content analysis, background analysis, and insights gained through participant observation.
On 25 April 2025, students visited the Motion Capture Lab at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS), and a leading technology company in Shenzhen. During the visit, students gained a deeper understanding of technological advancements and valuable insights into the development of educational AI innovation.
Students of the PRG6104 Workshop on Policy and Risk Simulation took part in a simulation roundtable, where they were assigned to groups representing different stakeholders. They engaged in discussion and negotiation on key public issues, deepening their understanding of policy and risk governance in a real-world context.
On 18 February 2025, teachers and students of the MSocSc-PPRG programme came together for a warm and festive dinner to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The evening was made even more special by a violin performance from Dr Todd SHI, creating cherished memories for all in attendance and adding a truly unforgettable touch to the celebration.
The graduation dinner 2024, organised by the School of Humanities and Social Science, was held on 5 December 2024 at the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel. Approximately 20 graduates of the MSocSc-PPRG Programme joined the event. The Programme Team wishes our graduates all the best in their future endeavours.
The Dean’s List and Best Progress Award Presentation Ceremony 2023-24 of School of Humanities and Social Science was held on 22 November 2024 at the Lecture Hall of Creative Humanities Hub. Congratulations to Mr LI Mengcheng and Ms YANG Yating as awardees of the Dean’s List.
Teachers and students from the PPRG Programme recently visited the Legislative Council Complex of the Hong Kong SAR. During the guided tour, students learned about Hong Kong’s constitutional history and the functions of the legislative body, deepening their understanding of the Hong Kong government’s operations and policy-making process.
The Programme Orientation was held on 4 September 2024 to welcome the second cohort. The Programme Team extended warm welcome to students and encouraged them to make the most of their studies with the Programme and at HSUHK.
